Come Visit the heart of the Rideau and stay in the original Newboro Lock Masters house built in 1863. This home has been moved from its original location on the historic Rideau Canal at Newboro Locks, minutes up the road. This home boasts a beautiful hiking trail on decommissioned CP Railway tracks which lead past conservation wetlands, to the quaint town's community park. Short walk to marina's, shopping, and dining in our town of Newboro. Close by to other historic towns of Westport.

The Space

Our historic home was built in 1863 and used as the original Lock Master home at the Newboro Locks on the historic Rideau Canal system. It now backs onto conservation Wetlands and decommissioned CP Railway tracks!

Guest Access

Whole house is available to you. Private hiking trail also.

Other Things To Note

We are a dog friendly property here at The Original Lock Masters House. While we welcome your dogs we do have a few reasonable common sense policies:

  • A sleeping crate for your dog is required

  • Please bring your own dog beds

  • Please bring your own dog towels

  • Please dry off dogs if wet before entering the house

  • No dogs allowed on furniture or beds

  • Our property has neighbors so no excessive or disturbing barking will be tolerated

  • All " doggy doo" must be scooped and bagged and removed off premises. We do not provide this service.
